Hint Of The Month

POSTURE  07/04/2010
Proper posture is critical to have an effective swing.
Not only does it reduce the number of times a player hits the ball THIN (tops it) or FAT (takes too much dirt), but it safeguards the body against unnecessary injury.
To begin, standing erect, using a proper grip, hold club straight out from your body at waist height, with your elbows tucked in to touch your side ribs, shaft of the club parallel to the ground, toe of the club pointing straight up.
Crack (slightly bend) the knees, then bend at the waist, keeping the back straight, (not upright but straight) until the clubhead touches the ground.
This should be a guideline for the correct posture for each individual.
Try it next time you practice. It will help your ball-striking.
